Heat generation during oblique particle impact

چکیده

Granular flows are characterised by particle interactions that involve sliding and collisions. In such events, heat is generated from friction plastic deformation. Despite the importance of self-heating mechanisms, our understanding fundamental principles generation dissipation still limited. This work explores this problem at level for oblique impacts between a spherical rigid substrate. first part, theoretical models finite element method (FEM) model used to predict amount contact temperatures various impact angles. The FEM in good agreement all cases considered. A parametric study influence on temperature distributions also carried out. It shown profiles dependent not only but material’s thermal properties, as conductivity specific head capacity. Apart insight into during impacts, identifies simple solutions can be other numerical tools, discrete methods, studying problems bulk granular flows.
